All our itineraries are half board: breakfast will be at the hotel and dinner will be in a nice restaurant. Drinks are excluded.
Lunch at the Festival isn’t included so you’ll be able to decide whether to have a sandwich at the Festival’s bar or go to a restaurant – we’ll provide you with many options
Day 1 THURSDAY 14/07 arrival LUANDA β BENGUELA
Many flights from Europe land in Luanda in the early morning, but whatever your arrival time is (Wednesday evening or Thursday morning), we’ll have booked Wednesday night in a hotel for you, so you can rest from the trip.
Transfer to hotel, for breakfast and rest. At 11.00 check out and have a short orientation trip in Luanda city. At this point you will also have an opportunity to change some money (please bring euros πΆ or dollars π΅ ). Depending on the time of your flight to Benguela, you may have lunch in Luanda (on us!) and here is a list of places we can visit in Luanda:
- Tour of Historical Center & Main historical attractions
- Visit to Fortaleza
- Visit Slavery Museum
- Visit to local market
*** PLEASE NOTE: we don’t know the time of the flight to Benguela yet. We’re planning for any option. If the flight is late afternoon/evening, you’ll have a nice lunch and visit some of the above-mentioned places. If the flight is earlier, we’ll prepare some fun activities in Benguela on your arrival! ***
Transfer to airport, flight to Benguela and transfer to Hotel in Benguela. Dinner at 8:00 PM, just before the pre-festival PARTY! π π
Day 2 FRIDAY 15/07 Benguela
FESTIVAL
For the people who like to wake up a little early, there will be a walk around the city centre (to quickly see the main sites of the city), starting at 8.30 β Duration: 1h
Also, for the people who want to be active in the morning, possibility of a zumba class and/or access to a gym (10β¬/12$).
The Festival starts at 10am and ends at 17.30. You can check the provisional schedule here. If you don’t want to spend your whole day at the festival, there’s a lot of activities you can add to your trip! More information on this at the end of the itinerary. β¬οΈ
Dinner at a restaurant by the beach (8.00 pm), followed by a dance party organised as part of the Festival (more details to come soon). ππΎπΊπΏ
Day 3 SATURDAY 16/07 Benguela
FESTIVAL
For the people who like to wake up a little early, there will be a visit to the local market, starting at 8.00 β Duration: 1h 30m
Again, for the people who want to be active in the morning, possibility of a zumba class and/or access to a gym (10β¬).

Day 4 SUNDAY 17/07 Benguela

Again, for the people who want to be active in the morning, possibility of a zumba class (10β¬) and/or access to a gym.

Day 5 MONDAY 18/07 Benguela/Luanda /Your country
Transfer to airport for flight to Benguela. Depending on the time of the flight to Benguela, you’ll either have time to rest on the beach in Benguela in the morning, or to explore more of Luanda in the afternoon.
At the time of your flight back home, we’ll transfer you to the airport. If your flight is the next day, we’ll book a hotel room for you.

Other possible activities in Benguela
Do you want to make the most of your short time in Angola? Then add other activities to your itinerary!
Please note: these activities will be scheduled at the same time of some of the festival’s classes
Visit one of Benguela’s gorgeous beaches. Spend a few hours or the whole day under the Angolan sun (wear sunscreen!) and dive into the clear Atlantic water. We can also rent a boat to see the Angolan coast from a new perspective!

Visit to Lobito, another city just half an hour from Benguela. You’ll do some sightseeing in the city, with its harbour (very important for the province’s commercial activities), and you’ll have lunch on the beautiful Restinga beach.

Visit the a few towns in the interior of Benguela, with its gorgeous landscapes and tropical plans (have you ever stood next to an African baobab?). Here, you’ll also be able to take a look at some interesting cave paintings.

Enjoy a few hours of sightseeing in Benguela. You’ll visit the main historical points of the city, like the Igreja do Populo, the Cathedral and its squares.

Take a cooking class and learn how to prepare an Angolan dish. This activity will take all morning (you’ll go to a local market to buy the ingredients) and will finish with a lunch made of what you cooked.

Are you curious about the local drinking activity? Join our guide in a tour of Benguela’s bars and meet all sorts of people! This activity will take place in the afternoon (after 15.00).

Take a few hours off the Festival to visit Benguela’s biggest market. Here, you’ll be able to buy some souvenirs and to take part in an important activity for many Benguelenses.

Take a painting class with a local artist. Not only will you be able learn something new, but you’ll also support an under-valued sector of Angolan culture.
